Hi Anglea,

If you get the chance could you please look up two OPR marriage records for me. I've got the references, don't know if that will help, but want to see what info is there before purchasing the actual documents. I also want to make sure in some cases it is the ones I am looking for.

GRO- 424/00 0016
FRAME- FR4564
GROOM- Hugh Marr
BRIDE- Mary Drummond
DATE- 2nd November 1822
LOCATION- Dunfermline

GRO- 644/01 043
FRAME- FR8007
GROOM- Robert Marr
BRIDE- Marion Russell
DATE- 12th July 1850
LOCATION- Glasgow

There was one other thing which I'm not sure if you would have access to and that is a statutory birth. I have tried in vain online to locate a birth I know exists but without any luck. The person was born in either 1899 or 1900 in Lanarkshire. I know the mother's name, pretty sure I know the dad's name and as she moved to the US I think I have the actual birthdate from a Social Security Number. If this is not possible then no worries.

FATHER- William Marr (or illegitimate)
MOTHER- Isabella Black (she claimed to married to William but can't confirm that)
CHILD- Isabella Marr (or Isabella Black if illegitimate, possibly could have been christened just Ella)
BIRTHPLACE- Lanarkshire (This information is in the 1901 Census. At that time her parents were living in the Gorbals )
DATE- 29th October 1899

Any help would be most appreciated as I've exhausted the online possibilities for these people at present.
Looking for Hugh Marr and Mary Drummond.

Fifer hi again,

I am still stumped in trying to find James Hendrie, I now believe he was born somewhere in Ireland in 1821, this Info comes from 1861 Cen in Old Monklands, Lanarkshire, (born Ireland, this under the name Houden on this Census...why Houden..don't know) his age is given as 40 on this Census, and on his Death Cert in 1874, his age is 53, which agree's with 1861 Cen.
Death Cert or any of the other various Cert's I have do not record his Parents or Birthplace, only Ireland.

His son Thomas aged 16 is also born Ireland, (on 1861 Cen) and  Agnes Green was his James's first wife, James must have been Married to her in Ireland, but he has another son James junior born in c1852, (to Susan Hendrie? I think) at Ayr, Ayrshire, or KILMARNOCK, and I know he was in Dickie's Land, George St, WALLACETOWN, ST QUIVOX, in 1856 as he has a daughter born there and then.
Then again on another sons Birth Cert for 1861 he gives a marriage date of 1852, ST QUIVOX.

So if you're not confused with all this, could help me again, and look at the 1851 Census for the above areas, and there's a possibility of their being in NEWTON ON AYR around that time too.

had reply from the Catholic Record Dept, of Columba House, Glasgow, and they are not doing any private seaches anymore, I have to go to Reg House in Edinburgh, thats if you cant help me with a sighting in LDS

I'd be very obliged if you could find time to look for me again.

Kind Regards

Jim.

Angela,

you must have a good heart to put up with all my havering, I've already had lots of help from Jap and Capricorn on the Ayrshire Page, I'm afraid I've been getting pretty mixed up with this Family, Jap has been great in putting me on the right course, he must have a lot of patience to have bothered with my problem Family, I must thank you also, for your continued interest.

look forward to hearing from you in about a months time.

Kind Regards

Jim.
