Hi there Fifer,

Good of you to offer lookups, Thanks for your last search I had forgotten I'd asked you for one, I'm still looking for the same guy, and according to his Death Cert he had another wife before Susan Hendrie.

I'd like you to have a look for a Marriage of this guy in Ireland... when you have the time, next week is OK with me, although I don't have a place or a fixed time zone, just a guesstimate, the people I'm looking for are:

James Houden or Hendrie or Henry  (age 24 at 1845)

Agnes Green

Approx Marriage date 1845 or thereabouts (son Thomas Houden or Hendrie born then)

Thx in advance

regards

Jim.Hendry.

Hi Jim
I checked the Irish marriage index from 1845-onwards  and couldnt find them im afraid they only start at 1845 so if it was the year before it wouldnt be there.

IF you're still doing lookups, could you check the 1851 census for Elizabeth Simpson in Edinburgh?
Birthplace South Ronaldsay, Orkney.
age from 20 to 28

(I have different birthyears for her - 1823 & 1828, and a christening in 1837)

She has to be in Edinburgh because she had a baby born in Edinburgh in 1852, although she didnt get married until 1856.

The only clue I have to the possible location is where they were in 1856

Castle and Portsburgh Edinburgh
Family Lived 5 Milner Court Edinburgh

Oh and Elizabeth  hopefully is residing with a man named Thomas  Fairbairn or possibly Freebairn whom she later married.  If not, I'd like to know who she is living with.

I hope this enough info.

Thanks

BD
Checked that address and surronding areas and couldnt find them im afraid.
Edinburgh is to big to search through without knowing a area im afraid.

Hi there Fifer,
Is It possible for you to do a 1851 Census lookup for me?

I'm searching for a James Hendry, DOB according to 1871 census 1825 in Ireland, whereabouts, not noted, so can't trace his Birth Cert for sure.

I Know he was in the Old Monkland, Coatbridge area in 1858, as I have his sons Birth Cert for then, on another sons Birth Cert it gives his Marriage to Susan Clark nee Pollock as 1852, Girvan or St Quivox, Ayr (the text is blurred), and on a Daughter's Birth Cert, it states her, as being Born in  Kilmarnock, Ayrshire.

So Fifer... if you could do a lookup for me in the Girvan, St Quivox, Kilmarnock areas of Ayrshire, I'd be very grateful.

Thx
Jim.Hendry.  :)

Hi Jim
I had a look for you but the Girven Film was a really bad copy and if they were there they must have been in the bad parts its was unreadable in places didnt have time to search the st quivox yet i will check that next week for you.

Angela :(

Hi again Angela,

thankyou very much for your taking the time to help me out, next week is fine.

I've had some new info recently and now think that they were (supposedly) married in St Quivox around 1852, Wallacetown, or Newtown on Ayr.

It may be that they were Roman Catholic and there may have been a R.C Church in Wallacetown, so they may not appear on the LDS records, but some do, I have written to the R.C Records place in Glasgow so I may get some joy there.

Thanks again and I look forward to hearing from you.

Jim.
