Mary (Mollie) O’Sullivan (O’Carroll); Four Courts 
 I think 'Molly' O'Sullivan was her sister.

Hi Everyone,

i am researching my great great grandmother Mary Byrne, i have been told she worked in the GPO during the Easter week 1916, i am looking for confirmation of this can anyone help? thank you

Was she an employee of the GPO or was she one of the rebels?
Is Byrne her maiden name, there was a Mary (May) Byrne married name Doyle held in Richmond Barracks after the rising but I don't know if she had been in the GPO.

as far as I'm aware she was an employee at the GPO her married name was byrne she was a widow at this point.

i don't know her maiden name.

She doesn't work outside the home at this point in time.
and 1901 husband Felix was still alive

I would think the staff were forced to leave the GPO
There is a book

perhaps it would be possible to get a copy in your local library.

Just had a look at some old newspapers and the staff were seized and than released in batches of 10 at a time.

This looks like Mary Donnellan and Felix Byrne marriage in 1885

to find birth marriage and death certs, most but not all yet have the image of the cert.
For example Felix's death cert is there in 1907.
