MI Request Kelso / Dickson COMPLETE Thanks!
« on: Wednesday 07 April 10 13:57 BST (UK) »
Is there MIs for Kelso, but not Rosebank, as the OPR says Kelso church yard?

I'm looking for George Dickson (b. abt 1776) d. 15.9.1848. I'm hoping I have the right George Dickson, whose wife was Christian Leishman. As this is all I have to go on for Christian and George.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Tracey

Borders FHS completed the MI's for Kelso parish church some years ago.  I've checked, and photographed the stones in the churchyard for a new edition of the MI.

Unfortunately, I don't have a record of George Dickson (d. 1848) or for a Christian Leishman - there are some stones which are either illegible or have fallen, which haven't been recorded.

Sorry, I don't have anything more useful for you

Elma,

Thanks very much for checking. Its highly likely that they couldnt afford a stone, so not to worry.

The new MI edition sounds great, especially if you have photographed the stones!

Without trying to sound cheesy, thank you very much for your (and your fellow BFHS members) efforts in photographing and transcribing as there will be generations of estranged folk like myself with Borders blood who will have a fabulous resource in the future!

Thank You!
