It is the same Reids.  My fault for replying before checking the names from notes. 
Yes, Mary was the mother of Jean Forbes.  I've never found much about Jean, apart from all the info from 1855. Its a few years now since I looked  into the Reid side.

Currently researching for a project on Davie Glen (1909 - 1978) from Tealing.

Davie was the youngest of six children. His Father was Alexander Glen and his mother Margaret nee Turner.

The family appears to have been from the Marykirk area. They then moved to Westhall Terrace Duntrune just north of Dundee, I havent been able to establish exactly when, or why they moved.

Alexander Glen was killed in action at the battle of Arras in France 3rd May 1917, he is buried in the Faubourg-d'Amiens Cemetery where the Arras Memorial is situated

His parents were James Glen and Margaret Birse , wife was Jane Grant
He died in Tunisia North Africa in 1943(5th Bn Black Watch)

In my limited research I have come across several David Glen's also, one seems to have been a quite well known footballer who played for Brechin City. With Brechins' proximity to Marykirk quite possibly related to the Glens' I'm researching.

My line is from David Glen & Ann Donaldson. Their son George Glen married a May/Marjory Mill, they are my g g grandparents.

I haven't done a lot of work on this line but have some information.

I contacted Kew and obtained photocopies of James and David's discharge. It confirms that of the brothers only James was at Waterloo.

I obtained the discharge letters of a George Glenn who also came from Dunnichen and was in the Royal Artillery. Is he related to James and David?

Lovely to hear from a distant cousin.

I know that both brothers David & James Glenn served in the RHA, James until 1818, and David about 1816, was David at Waterloo, I know he was a pensioner

What are the details of this George, when was he discharged and what age was he.
David married Ann Donaldson on 11/12/1819 in Dunnichen, from the 1841 & 1851 Census, they spent time in Aberdeen, their children were baptised in Dunnichen.

I have three children for George and Marjory is that right.

Canmore,  this must be Davie Glen the mountain man? he built the west gable at Ryvoan Bothy after the fire, assisted by Nanvy Smith who had a bunkhouse at Fersit. Nice stonework, he apparently had to tie his beard up as it was getting jammed by the stones as he worked.
