There is a Mary BROWNLEY born 1838, Colaba, India in the GRO Regimental indexes, has anyone had a look at the original record for that one?

Hi Debra,
Yes this is one of the rabbit holes I went down but when I looked into a couple years I had no luck at all.

She had more than one husband. By the seems of things.
My partners grandmother can only remember as far back as her great grandmother ( Regina Bessie ) which is Mary Anne & her husband Johann’s daughter

Yeah that is why I try to Ref to records,
Not that there is much for Mary.
Mary and John had 2 children I believe after John died Mary and John Yansch got together.
Mary's father is meant to be a Robert brownlee.
Robert died 1843 Victoria
Mother Agnes? Not sure

Did Johann and Mary actually marry?  Were the witnesses recorded on the the 1858 marriage certificate?

Hi Debra,

Johann and Mary never got married but I will need to check the records I have to confirm that.
But I know John and Mary did if you have a look at south Australia BDM.

Genealogy SA isn't a good as it only was.
