Lincolnshire County Council archive shows an Edward Broxholme (in some lists spelt Broxholm) of Welton Le Wold (which is near Wragby) who was convicted of "Stealing boots, shoes and other items from the shop of James Limon of Wragby; stealing wearing apparel belonging to William Lee, tailor and draper; stealing wearing apparel from John Utterby of Caistor, stealing 2 hemp sacks from Paul Hacket of Tealby; stealing 5 speckled white and black ducks from Daniel Drakass of Ludford; stealing ahemp sack, 6 stone of wheat flour etc from the corn mill of William Cunningham of Ludford; stealing a saw, 2 knives, a hammer, some mutton and other articles from William Wright of Ludford".
He was sentenced at Lincoln Assize to death, commuted to life and transported to Van Diemen's Land (now Tasmania) aboard the "Sir Godfrey Webster" in August 1823. His accomplices were Edward Taylor and Thomas Wilson, and some of the stolen goods were received by Jane Atkin of Louth.
Interesting, yes?

OK then, have you looked at www.Broxholme.net? There's a tree for the Wragby Broxholmes plus lots of other info. (Maybe it was you who put it there, but it's worth mentioning.)

My mum is a Broxholme. They come from around Fulstow/Glentworth/Fillingham areas. The furthest I've got back is William Brocksum (1788) who was my great (x5) grandfather. How about yourself?

Rebecca
