If he was a British citizen and his death was registered with the British embassy or high commission, his death may be in the overseas death indexes online at
www.findmypast.co.uk - in which case you can order a copy death certificate in the usual way from General Register Office. You may need to check three or four years after the event.
Not all deaths of Brits abroad are registered with the UK consular authorities. If this man's was not, then it would be in Greece's own civil death registers, which would mean research in Athens' register offices.
