thanks, I looked up the occupation:  Tinware Mft.  so that would probably be why the move to France.   Thanks for getting back to my so quickly.   Do you think I could find that birth certificate to confirm parents names and finally have a correct date of birth, as I do not read (or speak) French.  (unfortunately! :-\)

The certificate isn't on the site, just the indexes.
Unfortunately looking on the site they say that they now no longer respond to requests for copies.

Whether they still hold copies for that far back there I'm not sure, but you might try the email on this page:
