Could it be 7 Drummers Cott  Greenock?
I would have taken Cott to be an abbreviation of Cottages

Just googled, and there was a Drummers Close in Greenock.  I just put in Drummers Close Greenock and up it came.     Problem is it's on someone's genealogy site that immediately starts playing would be Scots muzac, so turn your sound control down first!   Hope that helps

I was just about to post 7 Drummers Close Greenock too.  ;)

A picture here:

One site mentions it thus:
"a narrow lane, afterwards called  " Drummer’s Close".

You're welcome Janet. The photo says it was taken from Dalrymple Street. If you look at Dalrymple Street Greencock on google maps, you will see that the whole area is newish builds or car parks, so I imagine Drummer's Close would be long gone.  :-\
