Martin Warren of Marnhull, Dorset.
« on: Sunday 28 March 10 10:24 BST (UK) »
Help needed please, I am looking for the Parents and Grandparents of Martin Warren who was born c1770. He married about 1798, to Elizabeth?? possibly FOYLE of Wiltshire and had a first son John who was born in 1801. I believe that he may be the progeny of George Warren Married Marjory Nowell because of the George and Joseph name usage in that family line.

He should not be confused with Martin born 1733 to Christopher Warren at Marnhull and not with that Martin's son Martin who was born about 1767 and who married Mary Burge.

Martin m Elizabeth had at least four children, John 1801, Sarah 1806, Joseph b 1811 and William b1817
Thank you in advance

I also have a John Warren born Marnhull 1801 in my tree.  He married Harriet True 12 april 1830 - is this the same John Warren.  I haven't research further back yet so cannot help on your actual query.

Having just looked at the Marnhull site on Dorset OPC realised why I stopped as  2 John Warrens baptised 1801 Marnhull so I did not know whether my John Warren was Joseph and Sarah or Martin and Elizabeth hence my dead end.

I have found the baptism for two you mentioned:
Sarah Warren daughter Martin & Elizabeth baptised 18 May 1806
Joseph Warren son of Martin & Elizabeth baptised 15 December 1811

But also:
James Warren son of Martin & Elizabeth baptised 12 Jun 1808
William Warren Son of Martin & Elizabeth baptised 4 May 1817

I have also found a baptism for Martin Warren but it is later 1778:
Son of Martin & Anna Maria Warren 25 May 1778
They had numerous children: Sarah 1765, Anne 1767, Christopher 1768, Eli 1773,  and John 1775.

Martin Warren married Anna Maria Short by Banns 8 June 1761

Any of this any good?

John Warren Born 1801 is the son of Martin married Elizabeth, they had other children Ann, b1803, Sarah b 1806, James b 1808 and Joseph b 1811. I am looking for the parents and Grandparents of your John's father, Martin Warren

I believe that George Warren of Cambourne, Cornwall took his wife Marjory Nowell Warren to Marnhull in Dorset where they are recorded as having children, some of whom were baptized on visits to Cornwall. One of these children was Martin Warren b c1765 and if he is the correct one, married in 1698 with his first born [John] arriving in 1801
