Oswaldtwistle - Bowler Family

I'm a bit new to the subject of family history - so bear with me .... I have been looking up my family history on the internet and i think i have a pretty much full family tree back to 1800 - all living in Oswaldtwistle.  i am now particulary interested in any info (especially birthplace) on a Charles Bowler (my great great grandfather) - all i know is that he was born circa1800, was married to margaret (or margarate) and had 9 children that i know of.  i hope someone can help me out there

i have your family on the 1861 cencus has his place of birth down as marple,cheshire.
details of the cencus read like this -

living at nook farm,oswaldtwistle in 1861 were the bowler family

charles bowler a 61yr old farmer and wife margaret whose 57yrs old.also living with them were their children
jane a 29yr old dairy maid
emma a 28yr old cotton weaver
sarah a 25yr old cotton weaver
joseph  a 19yr old farm worker
martha a 13yr old scholor
and grandaughter ellen bowler a 5yr old scholor

all born in oswaldtwistle except parents.charles born marple, cheshire and margaret born hawford,cheshire

as well as finding out charles' birthplace i also have a new name, ellen, to add to my tree.  as her surname is bowler i would guess that she is the daughter of joseph or perhaps an illegitimate daughter of jane,emma or sarah - i dont know what the procedure was for giving surnames to illegitimate children.
charles did also have an older son , also charles, so maybe she is one of his but for some reason is not living with him?
