I have just found I have the 1851 census for Bristol Orpanage.

Didnt know Bristol had an orphange.

Willing to search if anyone is missing members in this area.
Holbrow- BRISTOL AND SURROUNDING
MCBETH- CARLISLE
FURSDON,POPE -DEVON

Funny thing is, they later used the buildings for the Ashley Down School, and guess who went to school there ??? 

 (Many years ago !  ;D   )

I drove past it recently, it's on Ashley Down Road, and it is now (all, or parts of, I don't know) part of the Bristol College (or something similar)

We lived in Bristol from 1950 to 1964.

The BBC1 TV programme, Casualty, is filmed at the college in Ashley Down Road I believe. So many of the outdoor shots may be familiar to you!

My rellies were in Ashley Down childrens home in 1903 - 05  they were sent to canada as home children. there names were Alice Maud and Henry Victor Bartlett.
