just a thought,  Jimmy Delaney played for Manchester United in the late forties/ early fifties.  Scottish outside right!

it would explain why he's not there though - it ends in 1939.

Also, again worth noting  - the records are for those who played for clubs in the Football League at that time.

Thanks for the kind offer. It's probably a rumour but would you be able to confirm if a .... Lawrence (sorry don't have christian name) played for Wales in early 1900s. He was born in either Oswestry, Shropshire or Ruabon Denbighshire.

That's where my lot came from 

If he played for Wales it would be Ruabon or one of the parishes that were included with Oswestry.

I'll check later if that's all right. However, many of the Welsh team were amateurs in those days and wouldn't be in the book but I'll look around in some of my other bits and pieces.

Edward (Eddie) Laurence. b. Cefn Mawr 24 August 1907. d. 1989
(Cefn was in the Ruabon sub-district of Wrexham RD)

Played Left and Right Half.

Capped for Wales twice.

Played for Druids (Rhosllanerchrugog) (   Chirk's bete noire)

Then -

1925-1927 Wrexham; 1928-1930 Clapton Orient  ; 1931-1935 Notts County; 1936 Bournemouth; 1937 Clapton Orient; 1938 Notts County
