Bertram/Bartram
« on: Saturday 20 March 10 00:28 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

Looking for more regarding Bertrams/Bartrams that lived within Durham and Northumberland.

Currently looking for more information on a Robert Bertram who married a Jennet/Janet Dudgeon. They had two children that I know of Alexander Bartram (b. 1805) and William Bartram (b. 1808).

These birth records can be found within "Old Postern Or Clavering Place Unit Sec Or Scotch Newc, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England".

William Bartram married Harriet (b. 1813), formerly Summerbell.

Let me know.

Alan,

Thank you very much for the information. I am a direct descendant of Robert and Janet (Dudgeon) so this information is priceless.

Were these records part of your research? Or did you just happen to know where/how to look? I am curious because I had thought my search exhaustive.

Thank you again,

Sam

Hello to a member of the Bertram/Bartram clan.  I too have them as ancestors!  Rbt & Janet had another son they called Robert b. 01/06/1815 baptised 02/07/1815 at the Presbyterian Chapel in South Shields.  Robert Bertram was a wheelwright by trade.  Their son Wm married a Harriet Summerbell 11/06/1831 at Durham St Margarets.  I have plenty of info re Harriet, her siblings & step siblings plus her parents & g.parents and of course Wm & Harriet's own children

Regards
Crathorne

Hello ecron and Crathorne,
just read ecrons post again. I'm not related, I just have access to some obscure BMds through a subscription. pm me your email address and I'll send you copies of the original documents.
re. Crathornes prompt of the baptism of another son Robert in South Shields  I've looked at it and its very detailed, goes back to grandparents, hence my query if he/she already has the full details.
