Thanks to you both for the messages.
I think Charles(1822) is the son of Charles(1794) from Gt Totham and I have followed this line back to Matthew Gentry of Gt Totham.
The only info I have on Charles' wedding certificate(1844) is that her father's name is William Hatcher from London Fields and I have followed the line to Nelson, NZ
Charles(1794) wife was Catherine Cottee which is another story altogether as I can't find any other reference to her.

Hi

There is no evidence from the 1844 marriage that William Hatcher was of London Fields. The marriage merely states for the three weeks prior to the marriage Mary Ann Hatcher (of full age so probably left home to work as a servant some years ago) was living in London Fields. It doesn't tell you where she was born (though her New Zealand death certificate hopefully would) or where her parents were living (if they were still living).

Charles Gentry also states his place of residency as London Fields on the marriage but you know he was born in Essex and that was where his parents probably lived and died.

Regards
