I am looking for the husband of a Mrs. Dora Lemon born about 1869 she left Ireland on the Etruria in 1904.  She was widowed and I am looking to continue my tree but dead end on her husband.

Is Lemon Dora's married or maiden name ?

There are a few Lemon Birth and one Marriages in Co. Cork on the Irish Civil BMD Index - but nothing that fits Dora..

The one marriage is -

 Name: George Lemon
 Registration district: Cork
 Record type: Marriage
quarter and year: Jul - Sep 1886
 Volume: 5 / Page: 52

possibly a little early to be Dora's husband..she would have been about 17 at the time

I'd say the next step is to order the marriage cert based on the details above - you will be able to confirm this George Lemon married someone named Dora.

The cert will also give you the bride's maiden, the names of their fathers etc which will help your search for George. see - Details included on a Marriage Cert and Ordering Certs from GRO Roscommon

There does not seem to be a good match for George's birth... he may have been born before civil registration started in 1864. Maybe the marriage cert will give some ideas as to where to look next..

Also post looking for Dora Lemon's son John Lemon on FERMANAGH board- John's birth certificate would give father's name.

Submitted IGI record has John LEMON born c1886 Ireland son of William Henry Lemon and Dora Ross.

IF these are the correct parents then William H.G. Lemon and Dora Ross married Oct./Dec.1883 Newry registration district (Co. Down). William Henry Graham-Lemon born c1862 died 1904 Kilkeel registration district (Co.Down).

Guys,

This is them. I checked the Records for the Eurtia ship (1904) and this is what it states:

Mrs Isabella Lemon, 25 Married with child Mollie Lemon aged 3.
Mrs Dora Lemon.... marital status is Married and not Widowed, Nationality USA (place of last permanence residence). but race Irish
Gladys Lemon, aged 1 year and 8 months
Dorothy Lemon, aged 3 years
Nora Lemon, aged 14 years
Evelyn aged 16 years
Charles H Lemon, 15 years.

So we have the correct family here from Newry and looks like here name is Dora Ross. Interesting enough she doesn't state she is widowed and secondly she must have been living in the states previously.

But we can see he died in Kilkeel, Co Down in 1904

Blimey! that is them!!!! WOW!!!
THANK YOU! yes I know caps means screaming that is because I am.
Yes she was born in the US to a german father and Irish mother
she met William her husband in US and he took her back to Ireland.
Supposedly, the reason she left Ireland in 1904 was he died.  However,
if you see it listed as married maybe something else going on.
I know in the US census of 1910 she is listed as widowed.
