Information previously given at this link in relation to Harriet MacDonald
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,442766.msg2719549.html#msg2719549

"Charles' sister, Hattie May, married Robert Nokes and on the 1900 US census is in Swanton, Franklin County, Vermont with 3 children.  Her son Arthur J. died in 1975 and lived in Swanton (his wife died at 101 years of age).  This location is just across the border from Clarenceville and Missoquoi County in Quebec where the Faddens lived.  There is also a record in the Drouin collection that Charles' brother, Truman Barber died at Rouses Pt, New York State in 1928 but is buried at Union Cemetery in Clarenceville.  Rouse's Point is on the opposite side of Lake Champlain from Swanton, Vermont.  Perhaps this also gives you another area to search for Charles around 1900.  Hattie May had been married 7 years in 1900.  Online searches will pull up a family tree for her and Robert Wilbur Nokes.

Charles' father James Peter( b. 1844)  was the son of Comfort Fadden and Lucretia Orstuin.  Their marriage in 1832 was recorded in the Town of Arlburgh Vermont.  There are many online references to Comfort Fadden, some with contradictory information but showing a Vermont/Quebec connection"

Hi Valerie,
Have searched Ancestry all over and cannot find this marriage record. Yes, there is lots of info but I am looking for this document in particular.

Hi Debbie,
Don't see anything on the Harriet McDonald site in relation to Hattie May Fadden and Robert Wilbur Nokes marrige record.
"Hattie May, married Robert Nokes" When? (1893 I think) and Where?
Can't find the record in Quebec or Vt!
Have found all the info and documents for other family members.
It is the marr cert for Hattie may and Robert Wilbur Nokes that I am missing.

By information previously given at this link I didn't mean that the precise marriage details had been found.   I copied and pasted the pertinent information from the earlier post as that exchange was long.

Just curious.  Hattie May Fadden is a sister to Charles who married into the MacDonald family.  How does the marriage certificate for a sister further your MacDonald research?

This is going to be a round about explanantion, but here goes.
Harriet McDonald who married Charles Colburn Fadden died in 1982. I got a copy of her file from the funeral director and on it the next of kin is listed as a Grace Gagnon. Of course could never find a marrige record for her so didn't know if she was a Fadden or a McDonald. Wonderful privacy laws we all know and love. Now this is taxing my memory but I think I found a Fadden descendant who had some extensive knowledge of this Fadden branch. Together we have been exploring the Faddens (me, hoping to stumble across a Grace Fadden somewhere. Nope). In our search, the fellow I've been working with on the Faddens (Gary Nokes in Vermont) asked me if I could find the marr cert for Hattie May as he was having no luck.
Just as you, Ruth, Jacquie, Valerie, et al have found things I couldn't find (thank you all), I'm trying to do the same thing for Gary.
I didn't want to confuse this thread with my McDonald endeavours that's why I did this separatelty with no mention of McDonald.
Thanks,
Stephen
