*Completed* baptism David Trappitt c 1776
« on: Wednesday 17 March 10 08:22 GMT (UK) »
David Trappitt married Mary Bassett in 1800 at St Mary Whitechapel
She died in 1819 and he remarried Eleanor Taylor later the same year.
He died in 1833 in workhouse, St Paul Shadwell and his age at death suggests a birth date c 1776.
There are other Trappitts from around the same time dying in Tower Hamlets, ie John and George.
David was a butcher by trade and when his first wife Mary died she lived in High Street Shadwell.
I have assumed that the Trappitts were a longstanding East End family but they could have course come in from anywhere; quite an unusual name. Any ideas where/when David baptised?

Please regard this as COMPLETED
I found the baptism in 1778 at St Dunstan Stepney (23/8) parents John  Cordwainer and Mary.
They were married at St Anne Limehouse in  Sept. 1774; John Trappitt widower and Mary Wilkinson, Spinster

Hi taylorwallace

If you want to 'complete' a topic you need to go to the first post, click on the 'modify' button at the top right of the message, edit the subject title to include the word 'complete', and then click the 'save' button to make the change.

I've done this one for you as an example.

The moderating team don't always have time to scan through all the new postings on the boards, finding 'complete' in a topic title is a lot easier to spot.

Hope this helps.

Have gone through my posts and amended all as completed apart from my last one on HINE; if you spot any others let me know. Some are still work in progress but I have still deleted them and will present again with fresh info  if necessary. Hope this helps.

Hi,
I am interested in your mention of John Trappitt and Mary Wilkinson, Spinster, as I have both in my family tree, with Mary Wilkinson Trappitt [daughter of John Trappitt of Limehouse] marrying John Weech Forwood 25 Dec 1824 at St Johns, Horselydown,  Southwark. Would this be the same ones you commented about?

Just back from 7 weeks away in southern hemi; apologies for delay in replying. Must surely be the same family as too much of a coincidence otherwise. I assume this means that my David and your Mary were brother and sister.

It sure does David, and I'm thrilled to find you. Have been searching for ever. Can you contact me thru my offical site at Tribalpages.com. The Tree name is The Forwood Family Tree World Wide, and you can reach me via there and get access to my tree also. This is going to be great. We [many people of the family] have been after some connection with the Trappitts for a long while.  Do you have a tree on the net?

Thanks, Cheryl. I tried to contact you via tribal pages.com but couldnt find the right link. I do have some information on the Trappitts from my own research which I am happy to share with you if you can give me a direct email address.
