I'm not sure of the scottish system for ordering birth certificates - can anyone point me in the right direction??

www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk and you can download images of birth certificates 1855-1904, marriages 1855-1929 and deaths 1855-1954.

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
