Thank you Falkryn.  I have Win7Home and was hoping if I upgraded it might accomodate OE.

I am trying to escape from webmail and get an email program that
 1. allows me to download my mail rather then leave it on the server
 2. allows me to sort/file mail into folders on the email program .

The various webmail programs I've tried to investigate don't allow these things.

I would echo the recommendation regarding Thunderbird - its a far better program and would do what you want

1- You can leave your email on the web or download to local folders - the decision is yours
2- Using the Message filters tools you can set up as many or as few folders as you wish and Thunderbird will sort them out as it downloads the mails.
