*COMPLETED* Some help with deciphering
« on: Sunday 14 March 10 21:48 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone give me their opinion of the Glasgow street names and the surname of the second witness?

I think that in the parental boxes that the top two read - Samuel English, Engineer and Anne (maybe Jane) English M/S Harcourt. Any opinions?

The second street name, I see as Cornwall Street, Paisley Road.

And the first one - Paterson Street - it is still there.

I would go with Jane English, rather than Anne, but agree with Harcourt.

Cornwall Street is also still there - just off the A8, Paisley Road.

Am struggling with the witness name though.

Thanks all for that.

I thought one of the streets could be Paterson, apart from the P looking like Js formed elsewhere. But I'm happy with that, especially as both streets are fairly close to one another.

As I'm unaware of any McHarg or McFarg in the family, I'm guessing he may have been a friend so I might just write-off that bit of information as illegible!

Think it is McCaig (a variation of McHarg - have seen McCaig quite a bit with my own research)
