Hull Parish of Sculcoates 1920 lookup please

Dear Member I'm trying to find the father of Henry James Murphy born Barton upon Humber June 1883 died December 1955 Barton upon Humber , and wondered if it was on his marriage certificate.
He married Lily Bellamy born 1890 in the Hull Parish of Sculcoates in Oct 1920 . He was a 2nd class stoker in the Royal Navy from at least 1901.

Welcome to Rootschat.

I don't know if the Hull Parish records for 1920 are on line.  I doubt it, but would be delighted if someone could prove me wrong.

If they aren't you will have to buy their marriage certificate from GRO.  The reference is Dec 1920, Sculcoates 9d 524.  You can order it in either Lily or Henry's name.

On the 1891 census, there is a Murphy family living at  High Street, Barton Upon Humber, Barton-On-Humber as follows:

Matthew born 1850 in Ireland, plumber and Lead Burner
Sarah born 1855 in Garton, Yorkshire
Hy Jon (but looks a bit like Jas on census) born 1883, Barton, Lincolnshire
Jno W born 1885, Barton, Lincolnshire
Mary E born 1890, Barton, Lincolnshire.

So from that I guess Henry James' father was called Matthew.

I don't believe it, 2 years work , most family lines back to 1600 and there it was staring me in the face all the time , I must have Census blindness ! Thankyou all so much ! Yipeee.

I only found it because I did a wild search, using H* and Murphy with date of birth.
