Looking for info on the Startup family

Hi everyone

I am looking for information on my my great grandmother Alice Murial Startup. I know she was born in May 1908 and her father was Francis Cecil Hill Startup. Anyone help?

You will have to get the Marriage Papers to ID Alice by her Father's name back in the 1881/91/01 census.


they moved around a bit - did they settle in Kent later?

still in Nottingham 3 years after Alice Muriel's birth. Francis' Mother Ann (see later info) is there and another child Charles Cecil, born c1907.

Fran* Cecil Hill Startup seems to be in Ecclesall Bierlow, Yorkshire

You could use 'Pay to View' on the 1911 census to establish more details.

Murphy rules - Father isnt there, and Mum is not shown as Head, altho' they have their own Schedule #, they seem to be in the Household of a George Handley (a Carpenter).

         A few years after Alice Muriels birth ,her father Francis Cecil Hill Startup has risen to the lofty Position of Manager in the Corn Trade and is lodging at 81 Wath Road in Sheffield .As you already know She her Mum ,Gran and brother are still at Nottingham as per earlier 12.07 post.
