Hi does anyone know if there is any way to get the entry records to the way house training school for girls at brockham ? My mother entered the school in 1911-1915

You've posted in USEFUL LINKS by mistake so I've moved your post to SURREY board (since there is such a school in Brockham in Surrey but if it's not the correct county do let us know the location and we'll move this thread).
Meanwhile Google finds lots of information-
an interesting history of it here
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hi

I think the people to ask about this one and whether any records survive are the Surrey History Centre

It would be interesting to know their answer.

Hi

Do tell us whether they know anything about the records. I can't see anything in their catalogue that says they hold any records, but if they don't they may know whether or not anything has actually survived. If they have and they are under the 100 year ruling, depending how far under it will be at the record holder's discretion and usually only to a direct descendent, something you may have to prove.

Hi

Just interested in institution records in Surrey and whether they may have survived and if so where they are held.

I would also be VERY interested if you find anything. Just found my great-nan on the 1911 census at the Brockham Training home for girls. Not sure when she entered or left, just that she was there when the census was taken! She died in 1939, so our family knowledge is very limited. Good luck.
