Ok, I am going to have a stab at this ::)

Peregrine HARDY/Elizabeth JENNER married 18/10/1804

1841 Census;

Farm
Scoulton,Norfolk

Peregrine HARDY, 66   ( born circa 1775)
Eliz., 66
Wm (William), 26
Jas (James), 25
Peregrine  ,    6

As no relationships are shown would guess that Perry aged 6 would be grandson and his parents Peregrine and Martha Ann Hardy nee Goldson.

IGI has birth of a Peregrine Hardy, Carbrooke, parents Peregrine and Mary Ann (submitted)

I would think that possibly William and James could be grandsons also or born when P and Eliz. were in their 40's??

There is also a possibility that Eliz. was a second wife as would have been aged 30ish when they married 1805.

I will look into this more and see what I can find from Censuses.

Trish

Hi Jackie,

I have been looking at your Frederick

1851 census with parents seems correct, Terry/Perry/Peregrine and Mary ann Goldson.

There is a death of Mary Ann HARDY,  June 1854, Mitford, 4b 169

Also a marriage;
Perry HARDY,
March 1857
Mitford
46 507
There is no corresponding spouse on page :P,
so I looked for a marriage of a Harriet, no surname, March 1857, Mitford and found;

Harriet CHAPMAN
March 1857,
Mitford,
46 5(80)7

so mistranscribed ;D

This would explain Peregrine with wife Harriet 1861 Census :)

Ignore the Peregrine/Eliz Jenner/Hardy  census. I do not think he is your Perry.

They are so confusing as there are 2 born circa 1806 Scoulton.

leave this with me and will look again tonight when house is not so busy ;D

Hey Jackie

Sorry I missed your query but I am very interested in any one searching for the Hardys.
My Peregrine born 1775 was father of William Hardy (born 1813 in Scoulton). It seems Peregrine was a given name for eldest in each hardy family. i have even found a descendant in Yorkshire today called Peregrine (Perry) whose eldest son is also called Perry.
When i have investigated more I'll get back to you and I'd be delighted to hear from you too! Sue
