Thank you for the dates and the look up offer. I am familiar with Martha Stubbs and Elizabeth Jenney but have never found Mary Ann Goldson. Is that 6.1. 1832 ?because the only Peregrine Hardy I had at Hardingham married Elizabeth Jenney in Scoulton in 1804.

Hi Sue

Its definitely 1832 yes - not sure whether you could say the Perigrine was from Hardingham - most likely it was Mary Ann.

The only one that seems to fit on 1851 census for Mary Ann Hardy born Hardingham is this one

Head: HARDY, Terry         Neighbors     198141
Name   Relationship   Mar   Age    Sex   Occupation    Birthplace
Terry  HARDY   Head   M   44   M   Cattle Dealer   Scoulton-Nfk
Mary Ann  HARDY   Wife   M   40   F   ---   Hardingham-Nfk
Fredric  HARDY   Son   -   13   M   At Home   Funhall-Nfk
Charles  HARDY   Son   -   11   M   Scholar   Funhall-Nfk
Maria  HARDY   Daur   -   9   F   Scholar   Funhall-Nfk
Elizabeth  HARDY   Daur   -   7   F   Scholar   Thuxton-Nfk
Harriet  HARDY   Daur   -   5   F   Scholar   Thuxton-Nfk
John  HARDY   Son   -   3   M   Scholar   Garveston-Nfk
Ann  HARDY   Daur   -   1   F   ---   Garveston-Nfk
   Address:   Mattishall Road, Mitford
   Census Place:   Garvestone Mitford, Norfolk
PRO Reference:   HO/107/1824   Folio:   129   Page:   6   FHL Film:   0207478

Husband here is Terry which is unusual for that time period - the marriage for a terry Hardy to a Mary Ann I cannot find on my resources either so am wondering if the terry is maybe a middle name or a badly transcribed Perry? even - the only way to find that out would be to get a childs birth certificate to see.

On 1861 the above family is
Peregrine Hardy age 51 born Scoulton
Harriett  wife  age 50  born hardingham
Harriett  daugh  age 15  born Thuxton
Ann  daughter age 11  born Garvestone

The family above on 1871 is down as
Head  Perry Hardy born Scoulton
Wife  Hannah born  Hardingham
Daughter  Harriett born Thuxton   ages match as do birth places just not wifes name

Given that the marriages records were transcribed I would hazzard a guess that the name Mary Ann could be wrong.  Its going to have to be a birth cert to check

Regards Teresa

I know this discussion took place a while ago, but I am actually looking for Peregrine Hardy's parents, grandparents, etc because my info stops at him. My records show Mary Ann Goldson as his wife and I come out of his son Frederick. Does anyone happen to have any info/dates about his parents? Anything is appreciated!

Thanks,
   Jackie
