Hi Dot

Welcome to Rootschat.  What questions do you want answering.  Is it to find the parents of Andrew Lauder and Catherine Cockburn, or descendants of Andrew and Janet?

I have recently discovered he was the half brother of my late grandmother and would like to find out more about him.  I have some information about his son (Andrew)who died in 1973, not long after his father  and know that his daughter (Janet) married Kenneth Catchpole.  Janet died in Aylsham in 1994.  She had a daughter born in 1935.

It would  be really good to see a photograph of Andrew Lauder

Hi Dot

Do you have Janet's death certificate?  If not that would be a starting place as it is possible that her daughter was the informant and it would give her address.  If her husband Kenneth was still alive when Janet died, then it might be a good idea to find his death certificate, as their daughter could have been the informant and again you would have a recent address for her.

As it is probable that the daughter is still alive, you should remove her name from your post, as Rootschat doesn't allow searches of living people.  There are other ways of finding her.  Assuming she was the informant on one of her parents death certificates, it is probable she used her married name (assuming she did marry).  If she was not the informant, then you will need to find a marriage for her.  Bearing in mind her date of birth, the chances are she was between 18 and 25 when she married (people married much younger then), so you could search from say 1951 and 1961.  You can search on Ancestry quite easily, putting in the County to shorten the possibilities.

When you have her married surname, and possible place where she lives you can search on www.theukelectoralroll.co.uk/ very cheaply for an address.  After that it's up to you.
