India: Missing burial in India
« on: Monday 01 March 10 13:59 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for the grave of my great uncle who died in Hyderabad  July 8, 1873.  He wasn't listed as ill or in the infirmary but may have been the victim of an accident.  I was hoping the grave might have some indication.  In his last letter to family in England he is in low spirits and speculates he will never see home again.  I wonder why? His name was John Wilding, he was only 26 and a member of the 66th regiment.

Hi janereid,

If you go to the British Library in London they have an India Office where you can look up Burials on microfiche.  This will give you more information.

There is also a website called "fibis" which i have found useful.

Hope this helps!
