Thanks for that Mike, but less of the 'tuts' - remember I'm the new boy!  ::)
Had a look at site and very helpful and have taken a copy of the picture - pretty much as I remember it except for road in front and the vehicles weren't quite so old!
I remember the model shop - also sold furniture and now is 'The Great Wall' Chinese restaurant.

btw (by the way!!)
the land behind the chinese restaurant now belongs to Cavill fabrications -where my hubby used to work. this is where the railway came into the station.

My grt. grt. grandmother left her shares in the Charnwood Forest Railway to her daughter and son (my grt. grandfather).  By the time she died in 1903 they would have been worthless, seeing as how the company had gone bankrupt  ::)

See Mike - you're not always right! tut tut!
Diddy - I am sure the trains came in on Station Street side of brook, so would not have gone behind Chinese. But no doubt, I'll be proved wrong, again!
Susan - tough luck - now (if you had them), you could probably sell them to a train enthusiast for more than their original value!
Goodnight all
