                   have found out some info if you go to bedworth library and ask to see bedworth echo jan 25 1996 edition you can see for your self hears a picture for you not very clear but better when you see it in paper  hope this is what you are looking for best of luck i can remember him

Did you know that a Shaw family were associated with the Nuneaton Silk trades during the early and mid 1800's.
I wonder if they are the same family?

There are quite a lot of Shaws still living in the Bedworth and Nuneaton area, one family are opposite me in the latter. I will have a chat and find out their origins.
Will also have a look in the 1841 to see how many were around in that year.

Most of my Shaw's lived in Bulkington and Bedworth and worked at one of the brickworks.
Johnson, Crankshaw, Burdett, Shaw, Dawson/Dulson, Whitebread/Whitbread, Drane, Hyett, Holtaway, Thompson, Bodell, Livermore, Gee, Vernon, Smith......the list goes on....and on...and on....

Do you happen to know the name of Arthurs wife?  I spoke to my Gran today, and her father (my great granddad) was Arthurs cousin.

Hi John,
            I can remember the pub, my Granddad used to live in thehouse on the arm, his name was Caleb Carvell.
We used to park our Morris 10 near the pub and walk along to his house I,m 68 so obviously I was too young to have been in, but I would think that Caleb and his family would have used it .
Did you get any photos of the area ?

 :) only photos i found are in the library in the echo i know the name carvell
 i lived up the road at 47 coalpitt fields but that has gone now my wife's family used to live in one of the houses by the pub his name was George priddy he worked on the boats
