Beattie/McCormack/Gibson/Gallacher/Harvey

I am working on a family tree for my best friend - Susan Jane McCormack Beattie.  Her grandparents were Francis Gallacher Beattie married to Jane Gibson McCormack from Ayrshire.  Other family names were Helen Jane Harvey, Bridget Gallacher, Maxwell Beattie, John McCormack, Jane Gibson, John Gibson and Susan Clearie.  I believe most all of these were from Troon.  My friend doesn't have a single family picture from Scotland.  She would love to connect with any family members.  If anyone is able to help connect please email me at (*) or leave a post here.

Hi Kim

My ggxgrandfather was Peter McCormick (b.1792 Monaghan) from Coylton, Ayrshire.   He had a large family and two of his daughters married Gibson men (cousins).   The families seem to have been very friendly, witnessed various weddings etc and the name Gibson or McCormick given as a middle name in various family lines.  Some of the McCormicks are later recorded as McCormack (including myself!).   

Do you have any more information on Jane Gibson McCormack, such as date of birth, marriage or even parents - I do not have her in my tree but its not beyond the bounds of possibility that there is a connection.

Here is what I have for Jane.  She was born September 8, 1901 in Troon.  Her parents were John McCormack born 1865 in Troon and Jane Gibson born December 24, 1867 in Dundonald Ayrshire.  Their parents were William McCormack born 1836 in Ireland and died December 25, 1905 in Troon and Ann Wilson born 1836 in Tarbolton and died February 25, 1908 in Troon.  Jane's parents were John Gibson born 1828 and Susan Clearie born December 31, 1837 in Dundonald and died January 13, 1881 in Troon.  Thanks for taking a look!  Kim

Cannot establish any McCormick (mack) link.  However, if your John Gibson was born in Tarbolton then I do have one in my tree (born c. 1830) and he is the brother of one of the Gibsons who married into the Coylton McCormick family.   A bit remote!

Hi there,
 I have a Mary McCormick c1822 who was married to Henry Gibson 1820.  Her father was called Peter and I know he came from Ireland but don't know which part.  Peter was married to Margaret McFadzean c1801 who came from Coylton, Ayrshire.  I have some info on the Gibson side as they are my gggg grandfathers, aunts uncles etc
