What did grand-father say about the photograph of Lawrence - was it the image he had in his head ?

I have all the members of this family coming up individually on the 1870 Census but they don't show on Image 76. Page 21. where they are suppose to.  Have gone to the pages either side but still no luck - the whole census for this district is 124 pages. Have asked for help on this thread:-

 http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=445777.new#new

EDIT:- Have also gone through all 124 pages - no sign.
Reported as an image missing for all family members.

I did not show him the image yet. My printer is broken, I'll most likely go to my library sometime this week and print it and go over and show it to him.

Hmm, that is strange. Thank you for looking & posting a new thread based on that image. That must be intensly frusturating!

Investigating the possibilities for trying to get further information on Father Lawrence Farrell since the date of death looks like 14 March 1934.
RAOGK - 2nd on the list for Philadelphia may be worth an e-mail !!  Nothing ventured - nothing gained.

http://www.raogk.org/pennsylv5.htm

The Philadelphia Inquirer only goes up to 1922 as do most obit look up volunteers. Someone gave me this today but not sure any of it will help in this case, may be useful for you finding other bits on Philadelphia relatives if needed - This web page has a good summary of what's available online for PA newspaper archives

Looks like a brick-wall for the moment.

Have contacted a gentleman who is excellent with his Pennsylvania genealogy skills, to see if he can suggest perhaps a Church contact so that we can find out where Father Lawrence Farrell may be buried.  Hopefully have a response from him in a few days if this is the area of Pennsylvania that he has knowledge of. Fingers crossed.  ;)

That's great! I can't wait for the response!

I contacted someone in RAOGK who said they could do Obits. Hopefully they can find one :)

Hey Bullfrog.

Goodnews on the Obits. Johnnyboy is terrific and he will point you in a much better direction than I ever could - keep us posted though, it is always interesting to find out how things turn out.  Good Luck  ;D

Hi bullfrog: Dettori28 is very kind to call me a gentlemen.  ;) She sent me a message that you might need help with getting information on Father Lawrence Farrell, a relative who was a priest in Philadelphia.

I know much more about the western part of Pennsylvania, but I had a look around on the Internet for you.

The easiest thing for you to do would be to contact the Archdiocese of Philadelphia: Here's an e-mail address: webmaster@adphila.org. It's a general e-mail address, rather an address to a particular department, so whoever reads it will probably have to forward your e-mail to another person. But it seems to be the best there is in the way of contact information.

I suggest that you include as much information in your e-mail about Father Lawrence as you can: when he was born, where he served as a priest (Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament closed in 1972, according to the Archdiocese website), when he died. And tell them what it is you want to know.

If I think of anything more, I'll post it.

Good luck.

Regards,
John  :o :o :o
