Littlejohn and Ralph
« on: Thursday 25 February 10 16:35 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for information on the names Littlejohn and Ralph, from Rayne and Culsalmond.    The furthest back I have is Robert Littlejohn from Rayne, born about 1771 married Catharine Fraser, and Andrew Ralph from Culsalmond, born about 1714-1802 married Elizabeth Gordon in 1751.  I would like to hear from anyone with connections to these families.

Thanks

I have a Robert Littlejohn B. 1749 in Culsamond m. to Isobel Bremner in 1802 in Rayne.

Two sons James b.1804 & Alexander b. 1807 both in Rayne.

Any connection?

Cheers,

Poirot

Hello Poirot,

Thanks for replying.  This Robert is too old to be the same one. Could be his father, or uncle.  Unfortunately, I don't know enough about my Robert to say.  Your Robert seems to have married quite late in life, could this have been a second wife?

Best Regards,

Fiona

I have a Robert Littlejohn[1771 - 1845] m to Catherine Fraser in my family tree. He was the father of my GGGM Christian Littlejohn, who married Earnest Murrion in 1842. Is there a connection?

Hello Jan,

Christian was my GG grandmother.  I am descended from her youngest daughter, Marjorie.  What is your line? I think it was 1841 that Ernest and Christian got married, but I can check my details when I get home.  I am away on holiday at the moment!  Do you have any information about the Littlejohns', because I have very little?

Best Regards,

Fiona

I agree there is  marriage date query 1841/2 for Christian and Earnest. I am descended from James. I have photos of George, Isabella, Jane, James and also Maggie. I am not sure if she was Mary, Mary Anne or your ancestor Marjorie. Hopefully we can share more info when you return from holiday. Enjoy.

Hi Jan,

I also have one or two photos, but not many.  I would love to exchange photos and information when I get home.  I know James was in the police force down in the Ayrshire area (I think it was Kilwinning), I have information about some of the other siblings as well.

My home e-mail address is (*), if you would like to contact me through this.

Best Regards,

Fiona
