PURSGLOVE of Whitby and Rocksby

Can anyone help me please?

I am tracing this family from Norfolk....

Mary Pursglove married Aaron Richardson in York in 1772. The couple later moved to Norwich, where Aaron died and MAry re-married.

Mary's parents were Robert Pursglove and Rachel unknown- I do not know when they married, but their daughter Mary would have been born around 1754, and they also had a son Robert who was born around 1731.

Can anyone help with the marriage of this couple and the childrens births/baptisms please???

I have managed to find Robert Pursglove Snr- he was born in 1710 to Robert Pursglove of Rocksby and Rebekah Sanderson of Yatton. This couple married in Whitby in 1705- their children were Robert born 1710, Sarah born 1706, Joseph born 1716, Rebekah born 1712 and Rachel born 1719.

Robert and Joseph were both Blockmakers and worked eventually in Norwich. Joseph married Ann unknown and had 2 confirmed daughters- Sarah (married James Lesley 1781) and Rachel (married Thomas Rawling 1789).

Anything more on any of this family would be wonderful- it might be the clue to helping me find Rachel wife of Robert's maiden name!

That would fit fine for the approx birth year of their daughter Mary, but maybe a bit early for the son's birth....or of course the son's age could be out!

Until anything else plausable comes up i think that looks pretty good!

Was it the groom or bride who was 'of Danby'??

Looks like her- i might try the pilotsearch for an image.

Still need to confirm the marriage Shipwright found from the Yorkshire PR's....Unthank is an unual name- I am expecting lots of different spellings of that one!!

There is quite a gap if Mary was born around 1854, and her brother Robert really was born around 1831...surely there must have been other children in-between if that date is right?
