Johannah Sweeney
« on: Saturday 20 February 10 17:36 GMT (UK) »
I am wondering if anyone can offer any advice on how I can progress further with finding information on my Great Grandmother. Thanks to an expert  :D - I have managed to find out that Johannah's maiden name was Sweeney and that she was born in Ireland (place unknown) in approx 1848.  Johannah married William Deasy who was born in Desertserges, County Cork and they are shown to be living in West Ham on the 1901 census.  Their children William Deasy,Catherine Deasy,Mary Deasy, Johannah Deasy and James Deasy were born in the London area from 1875 onwards.  I seem to be going round in circles and wonder how I can find out if Johannah and William married in Ireland or England and if it is even possible to find this out without knowing whereabouts Johannah was born; presuming of course that they would marry in her own parish in Ireland.  Thank you to anyone that can help me with this one !  :)

Oh thank you soooo much ! This is looking really promising and now I feel really useless that I have searched and searched and you have found some info in a few minutes  :D but that's why you are labelled an expert and I am not ! Ha! Ha!  I really appreciate your help and will follow this lead.  Have a lovely weekend x
