Parker Lilian Bristol
« on: Friday 19 February 10 12:46 GMT (UK) »
Hi
I am looking for my Great Grandmother, Lilian Parker.
I only have the scantest details about her life. From her marriage cert : Married in
1906 in the Parish Church of St Clements Bristol ,
age 20 (birth year 1886),
spinster
Fathers Name: Thomas Parker (deseased) Upholsterer,
Husband: George Henry Long
age 25 (born 1881)
Occupation: Man Of Wars Man
Father: George Henry Long (deseased) Labourer
I have only recently discovered that my Grandfather (Lilians son) was illegitimate.
His name was Edward James Charles Long born 1904 in Ashley Vale Bristol.
The birth records him as Edward James Charles Parker, I haven't yet discovered if he was formally adopted by Lilians husband but he seems to have spent his life as Edward Long.
I have been told that Lilian was taken in (adopted?) by Anna Hollingsworth Hogg Nee White when she was a very small child. I have been unable to trace Lilian or Mrs Hogg on either the 1891 or 1901 census listings.
I have also been told that Lilian who was living in Horfield, became pregnant with my Grandfather Edward ,from the Jewish owner of a Tailors shop (again in Horfield) who then sold the shop and flitted offf to America!
The address I have on Edwards Birth cert is: 85 Ashley Vale Bristol
From Lilian and Georges Marriage cert: 8 Hill Street Bristol
I have also been told that Mrs Hogg (who also raised Edward) and Lilian lived seperatly in Oak Rd Horfield.
If anyone can help locate any info on Lilian or my Grandfather Edward it would be a real gift. IThe above details are all I have of this Family as Edward also did a moonlight flit, I know very little about him.
Thanks so much

Hi
Thank you s very much ... how did you do that!! I tried to track Anna Hogg but got absolutly nowhere with the census. As I thought she was a direct relation for some while, I managed to find her (census) upto and including her marriage to James Hogg but you found them!!
I've been trying to track these people for years now!
I can't thank you enough .. I'm headed back to the census to see if I can glean anything from the info, soooo excited I could kiss you!
