Can anyone read this please?
« on: Thursday 18 February 10 01:05 GMT (UK) »
Could anyone please make out the surname on the top line please?

I know what I think it says ......................... but the surname isnt right for Henrys father in law, and the woman I KNOW is his mother-in-law is 3 doors away with her correct name!

I am actually working on the theory that he may have married 3 times, not the two I have proven so far, so this surname is intrequing to say the least!

whoo! thats come out wierd!
Theres no black background on the original & its bigger! how odd!

hmmm yes Alyson, thats what I read too - only Henrys wife the mother of his Children is named Mary Mc'rea and she was single at the time of marriage!

I have the marriage cert - and my gt-grannys Birth Cert & that clearly says Mary Mcrea on it - and her widowed mother Catherine is living 3 doors away from Henry & John!

Its looking like he may have had a 3rd wife who also died, time to hit the registers n see i think !

Thank you for looking at it for me :)

Does this help?

I make it John Mace for some reason... but then I'm often wrong on these things!

another possibility is that Henry Flint could be the stepson of John "Hall"

It would be unusual to be described as such at that age -but stranger things have happened!!!

Are you sure it is your Henry Flint??

Could Henry have been married before and his 1st wife died? John Hill may have been her father what would make  the stated relationship correct.

Not everyone gave widower etc and he may have said unmarreid as technically he wwould have been.

Is this a Scottish Census?  I also make it John Hall and 76 and widr  and Henry kbut cannot make out the surname, but would also say widwr for him.

Is this Aberdeen, because I have a John Hall married to Margaret Forbes and am now curious.
