Can't get remote access to British Library newspaper archive

I have never had a problem with the 19th century newspapers.Until yesterday when i couldn't log in because my barcode was invalid I know it isn't.Tried again this morning with same results,i then went to the library to get it checked and make sure it didn't need up-dating.It didn't, the man in the computer room then scanned my card into the computer I think and said i should be able to log in now.I have just tried  it and my number is still invalid   Has anyone any idea what the matter is? and is anyone else having this problem?

I hadn`t realised that it was possible to access the British Library newspaper archives on line. Could someone please explain how this is done? Or is this a bad time to start?

for a quick reply if you find your local library website on-line  (Mine is Cheshire)you will see what that library subscribs to.If you have a library ticket for that  county library you can use the number on it.The barcode to log into the site of you interest from home

What I find interesting is that they know there is a problem and they know the issues will be fixed by 22 February.  I wonder if they are updating the site or something.  I can get in now, without even having to log on!! so that's a bit weird.
