Hi
I really don't know how to thank you for all your hard work.

To avoid more confusion

The lists of children I posted yesterday at 13:46 were taken from my sister's tree (she spent some time going round Derbyshire (2006), with my mother Joyce (Ernest's daughter) to gain more information.

a)  Photo 1 shows (they all have very similar features)(all confirmed as aunts or uncles by mothers handwriting (except Ernest & his parents)

Annie
Alice
Fred
Lizzie
Ernest
Edie
+ parents (Samuel + Sarah)

b) Photo 2 (imagine taken at the same time - wearing same clothes)

Annie
Alice
Mary
Fred
Lizzie
Edie
Ernest
+ parents (Samuel + Sarah)

Thank you once again
John

Hi,

sounds wonderful photos you have

but they are of samuel and Sarah and their children

What we are trying to establish is if you have the correct parents for Samuel

The 1861/71 census i posted with more children for Robert and Sarah - I would investigate further before adding them to your tree- as they may not be siblings of your Samuel

I will see if I can find anything more definate when I visit records office

Hi

I have now had a closer look at a family folder (made up by my sister) & find the following:

Copy of Ernest's birth certificate & marriage certificate
Father = Samuel
Mother = Sarah (formerly Dooley)

I think you are correct in believing c1841 was the birth year of Samuel

I am trying again to establish the parents of Samuel

Your help is very much appreciated
Thank you for offer of further research at the rcords office.

John

Hi
I am now thinking that Hannah was Samuel's (b1841) mother, & your Samuel b1837 is son of Robert & Sarah

hi john

been doing some digging, hannah if she is samuel 1841 ,s mother seems to be the sister of my g g grand mother mary harritt burton.

hannah and mary were 2 of the children born to robert and sarah all the birth places you give are the same as on my tree.
the only ??? is that on mary,s birth cert mothers maiden name is sarah king.but seems to many  other matches for it to not be the same family.

regards pauline

I don't think Hannah mother of 1840/1 samuel can be a child of Robert and Sarah -1841 Robert age 25 sarah age 25
1841 Hannah age 20

Maybe Hannah was Robert's sister?????? Only guesswork though

I now believe that Samuel was born, 23/08/1840, was married (dec 1867) at the Zion Chapel, Riddings & died 28/01/1911 Belper Derbyshire I think that his mother was Hannah b 1821

John
