jeremiah wood jones 1817-1878

Hi All
I was wondering if anybody knew anything about Jeremiah Wood Jones the son of Jerry Bach Gogerddan 1778-1867.
My GGgrandfather was called Jeremiah Jones, he was a harpist in Abergavenny and I am unsure as to whether he is actually Jeremiah Wood Jones.
I know that Jeremiah Wood Jones had brothers called Theophilus and John. My GG grandfather called his son Theophilus John. I do know that Jerry Bach used the name Jones for official purposes, such as the census. I am sure I have his death cert and the name is Jones, although he is buried under the name Wood.
I have been told that my GG grandfather had cousins who played the Violin and Harp for Queen Victoria.
Any info much appreciated.

Hi Allie

Welcome to Rootschat  :)

There's some information on the family on this site:

http://romresearch.wetpaint.com/

Select Wood from the left hand surname listing.

I helped someone a while ago on the family. See here:

Hi Gadjet

Thank you for the info, it was very interesting, especially the romany roots web site. It confirmed my theory that Jerry Bach used the name Jones.
Many thanks
