30 free credits for ScotlandsPeople

Hello

Not sure how this works.

Just registered and it says your unique code will be emailed.

Received email and to redeem credits visit Scotlandpeople. Now from here I'm lost. Do I have to register as a new user.

So do I have to register twice, once at Ancestral Scotland then Scotlandpeople, if not where do I enter this code.

Hi Kaz

If you are already registered with Scotlandspeople you don't have to re-register. The email you received says that to redeem these credits, please visit www.ScotlandsPeople.gov.uk/AncestralScotland.htm and follow the instructions provided.

If you are not already registered with Scotlandspeople then you need to register with them first.

Kaz, I hope you can follow this:

If you are registered with SP, go to your account, then to the top of the page where it says "do you need more credits".

Once you click on that you will go to a page where you have the option to purchase more credits, however if you go a little further down the page, there is a section which asks you if you have credits to redeem or some such thing.

Anyway, there is a box there where you enter the code that Ancestral Scotland emailed to you.

Hi all

I registered with Ancestral Scotland & then they apparently send u an email so u can claim your credits through Scots(which I am already registered for). However I have not recieved my email yet & I did the original request on AS on Thursday. This morn I thought I might try another addy but the site won't let me as it says ' this is a duplicate submission - please do not register more than once'.

I don't know what I can do next to claim my credits etc. Any ideas?

You could try changing your personal details slightly and using a different email address by setting up a new email account.

Hi Troods,

I received mine instantly, yesterday.

I have just tried another registration with different browser, email address and names, postcode etc. No email has arrived.

I bet they are swamped with registrations now it's out on Rootschat.

Thanks David & Jamjar - yeah tried changing my personal details , using an other email addy etc. Will try with a different browser though. I might leave it a few hours then try again. I thought that was a bit weird when I did not receive the email straight away as I have been watching this post & everyone seems to have received their emails promptly.
