« on: Wednesday 10 February 10 14:29 GMT (UK) »
Hi
Any clever people who can decipher signatures of witnesses on this marriage certificate.
1st one I know is WILLIAM ALDEN.
3rd one looks something like JOHN CROWFOOT
2nd one baffles me,surname looks something like BUTTLE, but the first name has lost me.
Thanks sheila

Hi,

Not easy to be sure, to me it looks like "Bendamon E Buttle" (could it be supposed to be Benjamin?  Just a thought!

Best wishes

Hi,

Possibly four witnesses - not that unusual.  My guesses:

William Alden
B Pearlamon (probably Pearlman)
E. Buttle
John Crowfoot

Regards,
Mo

I did think of Benjamin, burt was not sure, the beginning of the name threw me,because not sure if the capital letters at the front was one letter or two separate ones.
And I see where you are coming from with the four witnesses, and the possibility of 'Pearlman'.
Any more ideas keep,them coming.
Thanks for help.

I think there are definitely four witnesses.  The names as I see them are:

William Alden (his X mark)
B Pearlsman or Pearlaman      E or C Ruttle
John Crowfoot

Hope that helps  :)

Could it be B GlenCannon. I could just about see it as being that.
