Criminal Reg.1791-1892
« on: Wednesday 10 February 10 03:44 GMT (UK) »
Hi
I am trying to trace a Lazarus Warr who apparently may have got himself into some trouble born about 1816 and was residing in dorset 2nd January 1838.
Comes under the heading of Criminal Reg. 1791-1892 for Court/Land/Wills/Financial/
As I live in Australia I am wondering if someone could give me some info of how to go about finding Lazarus

I found this info on Ancestery Com. but I am not a member so is there some other way of finding out the details.

Many thanks for any advise.

Colin

Hi kerry
Thank you so much and yes I thought he was a Fry and not a Warr.
Appreciate your quick responce and the information on Lazarus.

You may have also opened up a new theory for me on the Free Births Deaths and Marriage Index a Lazarus Warr is indexed as dying March1885 Blandford aged 78 Ca 1807 although I have a few Lazarus's in my Family Tree, Warr and Fry surnames I have never been able to determine who this one is, could this be the Lazarus Fry who committed the crime and kept the name of Warr?
The mind boggles although the age is out I suppose there could be a possibility it is him.

Oh dear, I think this is one of my ancestors.May I ask how the Criminal Register was accessed for these details, as I would like to make sure? ???
My ancestor is Lazarus Thomas Fry born Iwerne Courtney 1816.

Hello Tracker 1

Your Lazarus Thomas Fry 29th February 1816 Iwerne Courtney is indeed the one mentioned of this crime.
He was my second cousin three times removed

Thankyou for that  Colin. My direct ancestor was his twin? brother,John Fry. I do have input in to the tree on ancestry mentioned previously, but there a number of errors which I have uncovered recently.
I am trying to take this tree back further to Thomas, their father, and his family.Do you have any. info. on earlier Frys?
My knowledge of the Warr family is taken from other people's research so far, but I intend to take a look at it too.
M.
