Here's another couple of children of John Arnold and Maria Sophia Hedges:

ESTHER <ARNOL>
     Female

Event(s):
   Birth:
   Christening:
31 MAY 1863      Saint Paul, Chatham, Kent, England
   Death:
   Burial:

Parents:
     Father:     JOHN ARNOL
     Mother:     MARY SOPHIA

ESTHER <ARNOLD>
     Female

Event(s):
   Birth:
   Christening:
28 JAN 1866      Saint Paul, Chatham, Kent, England
   Death:
   Burial:

Parents:
     Father:     JOHN ARNOLD
     Mother:     MARY SOPHIA

They will be useful. Thanks James. I'm guessing the first Esther died and the second replaced her.

James you seem to be very knowledgable about the Medway area and the traveller families are you a local.
My Husband remembers some Arnold's from school they had a fearsome reputation in the Medway area.

No, I'm from Wiltshire and have never been to Kent, as far as I am aware.

However, I've come across some Yeowells in Ightham but they seem unrelated.

Having been researching for 18 years or so, you learn where certain surnames are prevalent.
Yeowell (everywhere)
Lodington (everywhere)
Gerrard (Stoke Abbot)
Day (Antigua & London)
Broade (Benefield, Southwick, Turnastone, Mordiford)
Hereford (Sufton)
Pershall/Peshall (Horsley)
Ward (Lambeth, Bloomsbury & Westminster)
Stevens (Paddington & Oxford)
Hold (Newington & Winchmore Hill)
Ginger (Great Gaddesden & Flamstead)
Chidwick (Paddington, Chalfont St. Peter &Trowbridge)
Parrett (Paddington, Romsey, Fisherton Delamere, Dinton & Broad Chalke)
Davis (Oxford)
Clarkson (Newington)

Going off topic for a moment.
My husband wants to know If you have found any areas where the names WADHAMS and WATT are prevalent. I said as they are not traveller families you possibly don't.  But I said I would ask so I have.

Yoewell Is not a name I have heard before, Is it a traveller name.
