Precious photograph in need of repair

If there is anyone who could help me restore the attached photograph I'd be very grateful.   It is a little bit beyond my capabilties.  It is a very precious picture of my husband aged 11, which my ninety year old mother-in-law rediscovered, and would love to have on display, but it's in a bit of a state!

I can't thank you enough for these wonderful photos, and for taking the time to make an old lady very happy.   I can assure you these photos will have pride of place, you must all be extremely clever to do such good work!
