Yes I am interested in Petty surname, as in William John Petty who was my husband's Dad born in Chatham Kent 1905.  

WJP's Dad - James John Petty.

I'm not sure how they would be related as the Petty in my family (Mary)married Frederick Sawtell in 1846 in the village of Pitney, Somerset.

Interested in Francis SAWTELL - born 1815 - High Ham, Langport,
Somerset.  Any connection?  Also Emma SAWTELL - died March 1879 -
London (Ealing).

No links with Sawtells of Fivehead other than possibly through marriage of a Jane Scriven.

I have Jane Sawtell marrying Robert Robbens in Langport in 1762.  Do you think there may be a connection with your Sawtells? There are lots of Sawtells in Huish Episcopi but few that I can find in Langport.
I am researching my father's Robbens family originally from Langport, Somerset, my mother's Dymond family from Bridford, Devon plus other associated Devon families including Gillard, Spurrell and Simmons.  I also have an active interest in Corteens' and my wifes Larchet ancestry.

Many thanks for your replies. I've no idea about Jane Sawtell (m.1762).  As yet have been unable to get beyond F.R.Sawtell (b.1815).  Any help appreciated.  Thanks - Amy
