Jane Weston
« on: Monday 08 February 10 03:46 GMT (UK) »
Have recently discovered that my gg grandmother was Irish and came from Tipperary....
She came to Australia as a bounty immigrant in 1838 ...she was 17 years old. I believe her mother may have been a Jane Black and her father William Weston. She was a nursery governess and may have been from Cashel. Does anyone hve any knowledge of this family or can you tell me where I may go online for information (I have already tried Familysearch) We would be looking in protestant records. Thank you for your interest.

There was a Jane Weston, baptised in Tipperary Church of Ireland (anglican) on the 30 jul 1820 of William and Jane Weston (mother's maiden names were not recorded on early protestant baptism. She had 8 or 9 siblings.
The Church of Ireland records for part of Tipperary are in the Bolton Library in Cashel.

If you are still looking for those records, get in touch.

I am also Researching Jane Weston and Edward Webster. Edward is my 3rd Great Grand Father. I can not find a marriage certificate for them. Edward abandoned Jane and their three children Samuel William (twins) and Catherine. They were then cared for by the Benevolent society at the home for Destitute children at Randwick. Jane was admitted to the lunatic asylum Parramatta, she stayed here until her death 4 Oct 1887.
The children were discharged  from the benevolent society all three together  on 2 July 1855 .. I would love to know whom they where discharged to??
I also have read on a few occasions and looked into it a little that Edward Married Jane BRAN but this is confusing to me as he was still (married) to Jane weston all though there is no documents to prove that. I have wondered if Edwards Brother WILLIAM has used the name Edward as some documents have them both as Edward... In saying that I would like if some one could help me look further into this.
Further Information ( not sure how accurate yet) William AKA Edward or is it EDWARD* married Jane Bran 1873 reg Number 973
Got a Billiard Licence for the OXFORD hotel Sydney 9 Sept 1873.
Dies October 1873
If any one can help me with ANY information regarding Jane WESTON or Edward WEBSTER I would be so happy to hear from you . Thank you in advance and I look forward to discovering together
