Here's how it looks today.

Before Edinburgh Crystal, it was occupied for many years by D S Crawford Ltd, well known local bakers and confectioners.

Even the manhole cover, in the pavement, has survived.

You lot are fantastic.  I walk past that shop every day on my way to work.  With the Balmoral Hotel next door it must have been a very popular place, selling lots of fancy and expensive goods.

Hi ,
The Edinburgh shop in the photograph,belonged to my Great Grandfather,James Thomas Mearns.His daughter Isabella was my grandmother.
