Fareham address
« on: Saturday 06 February 10 12:02 GMT (UK) »
According to their death certificates, my great grandparents both died at "Newlands", Tichfield Road, Catisfield, Fareham - my gt-grandfather in 1947 and my gt-grandmother in 1953.

I have tried Google maps and Bing maps to see if I could find the address, but without success - apparently there is no Catisfield now.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

any use?

http://www.catisfield.com/catisfld/index.htm

Titchfield Road is now the B3334

MultiMap, Streetmap or Google maps should show it  :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I wonder why my search of Google didn't find Catisfield at all.

Hello,  I am curious if you found anymore information about "Newlands"?  I was in contact with a gentleman from Catisfield today and he shared this link with me.  I was looking for the exact same place as you can see from the attachment.  I was requesting information about my grandfather clock that had this address listed when it was cleaned in 1956.

Parker - Catisfield
My great grandparents, Albert Edward and Mary Rachel Parker (nee Young) lived at "Newlands", Tichfield Road, Catisfield. Albert died there on 26th December 1947 and Mary died there on 11th December 1953. I don't imagine for a moment that there is anyone who would remember them, but please can anyone tell me whether the house is still there and whether there is a local graveyard where they might be buried.

I think St Columba Church is the church which covers the Catisfield area.  It is a daughter church of Holy Trinity Church in Fareham.  The original churchyard of Holy Trinity is now, unfortunately, a car park and church hall.

You may find some info. here.

Albert & Mary Parker are buried in Titchfield Cemetery, in Posbrook Lane, grave numbers 495 and 496.
